Unlike abrasive papers and pads, where the coarseness of grits will be more or less the same from one make to another, there is no standard for the coarseness of wire wool. Therefore, 0000 wire wool from one make could be vastly more coarse than the same grade from another make.
The very, very finest of steel wool that we have ever come across is made by Liberon, and for use as part of the finishing process for woods, acrylics and ebonite, other steel wools just cannot compete. In our opinion, Liberon is simply the best there is.
Produced using high quality steel to create a crumble and dust resistant wool that is virtually oil free, Liberon steel wool can be used for a multitude of tasks around the workshop, including rust removal and general cleaning of tools and surfaces, for light cutting back of finishes between coats, and because it is ultra fine, it is ideal for final preparation of the workpiece before the application of burnishing cream or a final finish. It can even be used with soapy water to clean and polish porcelain and glass without marking.
Available on 100gramm, 250gram and 1kg packs
